I tried copying Jakob Ingebrigtsen’s hill workout this week: 20×200m uphill.

The only problem… the hill I chose was 10% grade.

Jakob is known for his brutal training structure - double threshold days, controlled volume, and very specific workouts. So for this week of the Copycat Runner series, I wanted to see what would happen if I copied one of his classic hill sessions.

But there’s a catch:
I’m also racing a 5K this weekend, and the goal is to PR.

So the big question is:
Will copying Jakob’s training actually help me run a PR… or just wreck my legs before race day?

In this episode:
• Copying Jakob’s 20×200m hill workout
• Running it on a 10% grade hill (probably a mistake)
• How the workout compares to Jakob’s real training
• My race week plan and goal for the upcoming 5K
• Whether copying pros like Jakob actually works for amateur runners

This is part of my Copycat Runner series, where I try training like the best runners in the world and see what actually translates to normal runners.

Next up: race day.
