CAMERON MYERS WINS THE BRUSSELS DIAMOND LEAGUE 1500M FINAL! ????????

One of the biggest surprises of the 2026 Diamond League season unfolded at King Baudouin Stadium as 20-year-old Australian sensation Cameron Myers defeated a field loaded with Olympic champions and world-class 1500m stars.

Myers crossed the line in 3:30.14 to capture the Diamond League title.

And the margin was microscopic.

Just FOUR HUNDREDTHS OF A SECOND separated Myers and teenage Kenyan star Phanuel Koech.

But the biggest story was who finished behind them.

Olympic champion Cole Hocker.

Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen.

Olympic medalist Yared Nuguse.

Former world champion Timothy Cheruiyot.

All beaten.

Ingebrigtsen helped drive the race from the front and remained in control entering the closing stages, but when the field reached the home straight, the entire race changed.

Myers had conserved energy on the rail.

Instead of attacking too early, the Australian waited.

Then a gap opened.

And he took it.

Myers launched his sprint down the home straight, surged toward Koech and produced a perfectly timed dip at the line.

3:30.14.

Diamond League champion.

And still only 20 years old.

This result is even more impressive because Myers has already produced a huge breakthrough season, including an Oceanian record of 3:28.00 earlier in 2026.

But beating Olympic champions in a Diamond League Final is a completely different statement.

This was not just about fast running.

It was positioning.

Patience.

Timing.

And having enough speed left when everyone else committed to the final attack.

Cole Hocker entered Brussels with one of the most dangerous finishing kicks in middle-distance running.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen brought 3:26 pedigree and years of championship experience.

Yared Nuguse had been one of the most consistent performers on the Diamond League circuit.

None of it was enough.

Cameron Myers found the opening and took the crown.
